Strut Melasma Formula is a physician and pharmacist formulated blend of medications that target the main symptoms of Melasma. This treatment may help lighten darkened or hyperpigmented areas, reduce redness and swelling, prevent the formation of excess melanin in skin, and increase healthy cell turnover.
Strut Melasma Formula combines prescription and non-prescription ingredients in a pharmaceutical-grade cream base to help reduce the appearance of Melasma. Hydrocortisone is a mild topical steroid that helps locally with inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling. Hydroquinone is a topical lightening agent which may help prevent the formation of excess melanin in skin. Kojic acid is an agent found in mushrooms that may help lighten skin when applied topically. Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A found to increase healthy cell turnover which helps reduce the appearance of dark spots.
A compounded medication is a prescription that is mixed up specifically for you based on your doctor’s request for specific strengths, ingredients, and dosage forms. Compounded medications are not manufactured, but made in compounding pharmacies by U.S. licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians that follow a formula ‘recipe’ customized to your condition to create an individualized medication for you.
Apply a light coating of cream to clean, dry skin on affected areas, once daily at bedtime, or twice daily, as directed by your doctor. Wash hands after application, and avoid excess sun exposure. Strut Melasma formula is usually not used for longer than 8 weeks unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved unless directed otherwise by your doctor. This drug combination is not intended for long-term treatment of Melasma and does not permanently cure Melasma. Once this treatment is discontinued, repigmentation will likely occur in the affected areas, although patients can continue to be managed with other treatments. Follow your doctor's specific orders if you are unsure how to use the medication.
The most common side effects of Strut Melasma Formula are itching, redness, scaling, dryness, peeling, burning, stinging, and increased sensitivity to the sun. Less common side effects include severe dryness, cracking, bleeding, blisters, oozing, or a blue or black discoloration of the skin. Wear sunscreen daily while using this product.
